Whole Life Insurance in League City

Whole life is permanent coverage. The premium stays the same and the policy builds cash value slowly. We help you decide if it fits, size it to a payment you can keep for decades, and set up your beneficiaries carefully so your family is actually protected.

How Whole Life Works and Who It Suits

As long as the premiums are paid, a whole life policy covers you for the rest of your life. The premium is set when the policy begins and does not rise as you age. Part of each payment builds cash value at a rate the contract spells out, and down the road you can borrow against it.

Compared with term life for the same face amount, the monthly cost is much higher, at times several times as much. In return, the coverage never runs out and the premium never moves.

Safety comes first for us, and that begins with being straight about whether it fits. Whole life works well for needs that last a lifetime: final costs, money for a spouse or child, or care for someone who will always lean on you. If you mostly need to cover a mortgage or twenty years of income, we will tell you term may handle it for less.

How We Set Up Your Whole Life Policy

We ask about the need before the price
First we find out what the money is meant to cover and how long that need will go on. Those answers tell us if whole life fits on its own or works as one piece of a larger plan.
Coverage built around a premium you can keep
Your family is only protected while the policy stays active. So we set the coverage to a monthly payment you can manage in tight years, not the most you could squeeze out right now.
Cash value explained in plain terms
You see how little cash value builds in the first years and what surrender charges you would face if you cancel. We go over the guaranteed figures and any non-guaranteed ones and explain how they differ.
Careful beneficiary setup
We list a primary beneficiary and a backup, then explain how the insurer treats money left to a child under 18. A small error here can hold up payment to the people you want to protect.
A look at the riders
Some policies come with riders, such as waiving premiums if you become disabled. We tell you the cost of each one and whether it is worth adding.

When Whole Life May Make Sense

  • Someone will depend on you for life

Maybe it is a grown child who cannot live independently, or a partner with no income of their own. That need never ends, and a term policy may run out before it does.

  • You want final costs covered no matter what

Nobody knows when funeral and burial bills will arrive. With permanent coverage, the money is in place whether that happens at 60 or 95.

  • Your term coverage is about to end

Many term policies include a conversion option that moves you to permanent coverage without a new health exam. If your term is nearly over and your health is not what it was, look at that option before it closes.

  • You want a bill that never changes

Some people just want to know their premium will stay put. Whole life puts that promise in the contract.

  • You hope to pass something on

If you want to leave money to your children or grandchildren, a permanent policy with a named beneficiary is a simple way to make that happen.

Steps to Getting Your Policy

  1. 1

    We start with a call

We go over your family, your budget and any coverage you carry now. If you have an older policy, we review it before recommending anything, since canceling it before a new one is approved could leave you without coverage.

  2. 2

    Side-by-side quotes

You see several coverage amounts with their premiums so the trade-offs are clear. If term or universal life suits you better, we show you that as well.

  3. 3

    Applying and underwriting

Most whole life applications include health questions, and many call for a brief medical exam. The insurer checks your records and assigns your rate class. We let you know how it is going along the way.

  4. 4

    Reviewing the finished policy

When the insurer sends the final contract, we go through each section with you. We recheck the beneficiaries, the premium and the draft date so the policy does not lapse by accident.

What Sets Your Whole Life Premium

A whole life premium is fixed once and stays that way, so what you start with counts. These are the things the insurer weighs. We go over each before you apply so the final figure is no surprise.

Age when you buy
Every year of waiting raises the premium you lock in, and you pay that higher amount for as long as you keep the policy. Starting sooner keeps it lower.
Your health and tobacco use
Your medical history, medications, weight and any tobacco use set your rate class. Smokers pay a lot more.
How much coverage you buy
More coverage means a bigger payment. We match the amount to an actual need, such as final costs or support for someone who depends on you, rather than a nice round figure.
How you pay and which riders you add
Spreading payments over your lifetime costs less each year than paying the policy up in 10 or 20 years. Every rider you add raises the premium too.

Common Questions About Whole Life

Something not covered here? (281) 843-3159

Should I pick whole life over term life?

One is not better for everyone. Term costs less and lasts a fixed number of years. Whole life lasts your whole life and builds cash value, at a higher price. Plenty of clients carry both: term while the kids live at home and whole life for needs that never end.

How quickly does cash value build?

Not quickly at the start. Early on, most of each premium pays for the coverage itself and fees. It speeds up as the years pass, so whole life makes the most sense if you plan to hold it a long time.

Is it possible to take a loan from the policy?

Yes, once enough cash value has built up. A policy loan charges interest, and any balance left when you die comes out of what the insurer pays. We explain how that works before you borrow anything.

What happens if I miss a premium?

Most insurers give you a short stretch past the due date before anything happens, and some policies can use cash value to cover the payment. If you stop paying altogether, the policy can lapse. We set your draft date to match your payday to make a miss less likely.

Can you help if I live outside League City?

We can. Our clients come from all over the area, Friendswood, Dickinson, Webster and Kemah among them. The whole process can happen by phone, and you read every page before signing.
